Nexialist.org
Nexialist is founded on the concepts of bringing order from chaos in the digital world. It is a one stop web portal that lists content-rich links to educational web pages and documents. This web project grew out of my own work as an Internet researcher for Study Web USA and The Centre for Digital Humanities and Innovation at Malaspina University where I assisted professors in finding online content to for their course curriculum and research database.
Nexialist is developed on open source technology whose aim is to evolve as an educational resource that also connects research and knowledge from numerous disciplines and subject matters. Aspiring to incorporate both multi-lingual findings within a holistic presentation, Nexialist.org aims to serve both the lay person and the academic community by providing a starting point to quality online content. Through its collection, review and annotated listings of online educational material, It aspires to contribute to the development of peer reviewed Internet content as well as the field of information architecture. In the future it would like incorporate the research and findings of students trained in Internet research to add to the database and generate a centralized repository of links to online knowledge.
No, some sites have advertisements and their inclusion is based on how content rich they are. There can be a fine balance between these two things and our contributers make a judgemntal call based on how useful the information and how much space is given to ads on a given page.
Site contributers are skilled internet researches who are trained and focused on finding and evaluating educational sites.
A more knowledgable and aware global populus, armed with solid information resources for a sustainable future.
